Crossroads is in search of a godly, called and qualified candidate to be our Children’s Ministry Pastor. This person will be responsible for creating a team-based ministry that is able to facilitate inspiring, life giving Christ centered environments where kids grow in their relationship with the Lord. The ministry will also build relationships with parents and come alongside them in helping them be the primary spiritual leader in their child’s life. Job Description: Children’s Pastor

Reports to: Lead Pastor Mike Chong Perkinson

Hours: Full-Time

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualification

The role of Children’s Pastor is for someone who values and understands the church as an Incarnational and Relational community of saints that live out the mission of loving God, loving others and as we live life, make disciples. This person will have the ability to partner with the Crossroads Christian Fellowship (CCF) staff, CCF ministry leaders, and parents to see kids in our community know and become like Jesus.

Job Description:

Crossroads Christian Fellowship (CCF) is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, self-directed, candidate who has a passion for students, newborn through 5th grade who can prayerfully develop the heart and plan for children’s ministries based on the values, vision and mission of Crossroads and coordinates and facilitates the implementation of the plan for children’s ministries. We are looking for someone who:

Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Prior experience as a full-time church staff member and 2-3 years of ministry leadership experience with children is preferred. 
  • Prior experience in recruiting, training, developing, coaching volunteers, as well as working in a multi-staff environment.
  • A commitment to continuing education is desired.
  • Exceptional organization & communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Excel, Word and Google Drive
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to relate, speak and minister to students and parents on a personal, as well as spiritual level
  • Ability to use creativity in all areas of responsibility
  • Team player in relation to CCF staff, team leader in relation to Student Ministry volunteers

  • High School Graduate, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Core Functions and Responsibilities:

Assist the ongoing growth of CCF by overseeing all departments of the CCF children’s ministry, including but not limited to recruiting, training and managing CCFKids team leaders, members and various volunteers; coordinating events, activities and childcare needs for the church; curriculum and lesson planning.

  • Leadership:
    • Vision Cast, plan and execute a weekend service ministry for the children of Crossroads church. This includes set up / training / check in / cleaning / team building and administrating.
    • Recruit, train, lead, and retain a volunteer base to accomplish the vision of the ministry.
    • Plan and execute a Vacation Bible School for the children of the greater Bigfork area.
    • Consistently seeks or writes curriculum that is biblically centered and teachable to children.
    • Visit classes for the purpose of evaluation and teacher support in order to address any issues or emergencies that arise. Teaches classes as needed.
    • Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.
    • Come alongside parents in the ministry of spiritually leading their families.
    • Assist in large church gatherings providing ministry time for the children of Crossroads.
    • Plan and execute a program that disciples teens that want to be involved serving in children’s ministry.
    • Work with Crossroads Youth Ministry on a cross-ministry plan to bridge the Kids and Students
  • Budget:
    • Plan, organize and run the Children’s ministries spending plan in a manner that is honoring to Christ’s calling to stewardship and the values and mission of Crossroads.
  • Childcare:
    • Ensure childcare is in place for classes, trainings and events as needed
  • Check-In Team:
    • Oversee the check-in team for current and first-time guests on a weekly basis
  • Communication:
    • Communicate via newsletter, social media, emails, texts, calls, etc. with parents and leaders on a regular basis
  • Child Dedication:
    • Promote, plan and execute child dedications a few times a year
  • Baptisms:
    • Promote, plan and execute baptisms for kids a few times a year
  • Events:
    • Plan, prep & execute events for kids throughout the year
  • Curriculum:
    • Ensure all aspects of curriculum are ready each weekend for preschool and elementary
  • Facility:
    • Ensure facility is safe and clean for ministry on a weekly basis
    • Ensure that all aspects of Children’s Ministry are ready to go for services
    • Safety of the children, service schedule, worship, tech, story, transition between services, and being the lead person in case of emergencies.

  • Relational personality who loves to work with a team.
  • Ability to identify leaders and build teams around those leaders.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of children’s work and good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership abilities and strong planning skills. 
  • A strong commitment to winning lost children to Christ and discipling them into discovering their God-given capacity and destiny in Christ.
  • Must have patience and love for children.
  • Someone who loves to laugh and enjoy the life God has given us to live.
  • Able to receive and give constructive feedback.
  • History of developing leaders.
  • History of relational recruiting volunteers.
