Financial Stewardship Catalyst
Jim was born in Owatonna, Minnesota in 1959 and grew up in the outdoors playing hockey, training horses and becoming an Eagle Scout. On his 1st trip to Montana in 1978, Jim sat on the bridge in Bigfork and asked God to bring him here. While studying Finance in MN, Jim was able to spend summers as the wrangler at Flathead Lake Lodge and then Managed Mountain Sky Guest Ranch in Emigrant, MT in 1981. In 1982, Jim joined General Mills in Minnesota. He worked his way up through Operations, Yoplait, Betty Crocker and a JV with Dupont as CFO, where he earned many recognition awards for outstanding results. Jim then partnered with a friend in what became the largest residential painting company in Minnesota with 235 employees. Jim met his wonderful wife Nikki while traveling to Montana and were married in 1993 and started a family in Medina, Minnesota. They dreamed to live in Montana and raise their daughter Shannon and son Nate there and began to pray in earnest for that realization. In 2005, Jim sold his contracting business and moved the family to Bigfork as part of a new real estate venture and also developed the Hidden Harbor Marina on Flathead Lake. The Frizzell’s became part of the Crossroads family in 2006 and dedicated “The Hollow” (a sanctuary in the woods) to Crossroads in 2010. Jim is honored to lead the Stewardship efforts, visioning for priorities and setting up a Human Resources framework for growth. His calling is to “awaken potential” for outreach and ministries while faithfully stewarding the resources and gifts of Crossroads.
