Leading yourself well is always the first step in leadership!

Good morning men!  Welcome to day 13!  Join with me in this short prayer:  Lord, I pause in my day to hear from You!  Hearing Your voice is my priority.  But obeying Your voice is my calling!  Amen!

A statement that Pastor Paul shared with us, at the retreat, is still reverberating in my heart.  “Leadership starts with Lordship!”

Who has you…really?  Who do you belong to…really?  Whose voice do you follow…really?  Is it the Lord’s?  Or is it your own?

We want many things in our life and for our life.  And it’s very easy to just look around us and we see plenty of things that we think we want, and we follow after them.  And most of us would quickly answer, yes, to this question: Do you want to hear God’s voice?

But do we really?  I’m more and more convinced that we say we want to hear God’s voice, but in reality, we want to hear His voice in order for us to decide if we will obey or not.  This is our tragedy.  This is ‘self’ on the throne.  This is our ‘logic’ in control.  In short, this is ‘self,’ as lord!

Lordship is listening to Christ, knowing Him, abiding with Him, and following Him!  “A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:5. David was not mesmerized by his circumstances nor by all the voices around him.  “David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet Goliath!” 1 Samuel 17:48

Christ as Lord, is the beginning of life.  Lordship of Christ, is salvation from self!  Christ as your Lord, is your first step on leading yourself well, and then leading those whom God has put in your life!

My prayer for today: Lord Jesus, I call You that because I want this more than anything on earth.  Lord, speak. Your servant is listening to obey You today!  Amen!
