Becoming the Man God's Future Requires

Good morning, sir! Welcome to day thirteen! How's it going? I hope you're enjoying connecting with the Holy Spirit who lives within you!

Join me in prayer: “Lord, as I pause right now, draw me into living connection with You! Nourish my spirit until my whole inner being overflows with Your life! Amen!

One of my greatest desires is for each of us to experience a living relationship with the Holy Spirit. Why? Because we can know a great deal about Him without truly knowing Him!

Not long ago, I came across this definition:

"Discipleship is not merely teaching people what to do. It's revealing to them who they are in Christ!"

That's why I've been emphasizing identity. Who we believe we are profoundly influences how we live! Anyone can discipline themselves to change certain behaviors for a while. But my greatest source of transformation isn't self-discipline. It's my living connection with the Holy Spirit!

Pride keeps us striving, hoping someday we'll finally feel like God's children. Humility acknowledges our need and receives what God has already provided!

God predestined us for adoption through Christ (Eph. 1:5). And because we're His children, the Spirit within us cries, "Abba, Father!" (Gal. 4:6).

Think about that!  We can know intellectually that we belong to God and still strive to earn what He's already freely given!

Somewhere along the way, we must surrender and say, "Lord, I cannot transform myself through self-discipline and checklists. I need Your power working within me!" (Eph. 3:20).

Here's the revelation: Abiding isn't striving to produce fruit. It's remaining connected to the One whose life produces it! (John 15:4–5).

Lord, I turn away from self-reliance and surrender myself afresh to You! Draw me into deeper communion with You. Thank You for making the way! Amen!
