Faithfulness in little things is what unlocks the greater things!
Good morning sir! Welcome to day 9!
Decades ago, I was walking on the Campus of the Christian Broadcasting Network, in Virginia Beach. I saw a piece of garbage on the lawn and I walked on by. But my conscience was pricked by the Holy Spirit and He said, You should go get that rubbish and put it into the garbage can. And a little silent battle ensued inside my head. “That’s not my job. They have ground keepers for that. Someone else, who is lower on the pay scale will do that. It’s really not that big of a deal.” But then His voice got stronger, Are you here as a son or as a hireling? At that, I stopped in my tracks, went over, picked up the garbage, and put it in its place.
Spiritually my heart needed an operation. Remember, the heart is the man. The heart is so full of self-importance that humbling ourselves is never our default mode.
Samuel anointed David to be the King of Israel, and then David went back to tending his father’s sheep.
Don’t ever look at the little places you are placed in as mistakes. God is looking at your heart. Can you be entrusted with a bigger place?
The ‘tip of your spear,’ is your heart! Is it faithful? Is it generous? Is it humble? Are you a son in your heart? or a hireling in your heart?
My prayer for today: Lord, let my heart align with Your heart! Let my heart proclaim: Great things for me, begin with my faithfulness in small things! Your Word is true: “The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much!” Luke 16:10. Amen!
