We are a group of women who, after learning about “period poverty,” grabbed our sewing machines and decided to act.

What we are doing to help…

Once or twice a month, we gather in someone’s home to sew hygiene kits for girls at Eden’s Child in Rwanda. While several of us bring our sewing machines or Sergers, others of the group help in other ways:

  • trace patterns

  • cut fabric

  • pin fabric pieces

  • add snaps

Our goal is for every adolescent girl in the Eden’s Child program to receive:

  • 2 waterproof shields

  • 8 pads: 6 octagon and 2 serged

  • 1 pair of panties

  • 1 washcloth

  • 1 ziplock for washing pads

  • 1 drawstring bag

  • 1 soap to be added in Rwanda due to suitcase weight limitations
