Read the articles attached. Highlight the questions you have. Write one statement from each article that resonated with you.
In verse 7, Jesus describes Himself as “the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David.” What does this title tell us about His authority, and how does it relate to Isaiah 22:22? Why is it important that Jesus alone has the authority to open and shut doors?
Jesus says in verse 8, “I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.” What might this “open door” represent, and how does it encourage a church with “little power”?
What does it mean in verse 10 that Jesus will “keep you from the hour of trial”? How might this be understood in light of the church’s faithfulness and the broader context of biblical testing & persecution?
Compare the promise in verse 10 to John 17:15 and 2 Thessalonians 3:3. How does God’s protection in times of testing shape our view of suffering and perseverance? How do these passages help us understand Jesus’ commitment to His people during tribulation?
Pray that God would reveal Himself to you through our study of Revelation.
